Painting Competition: "Minimum Unit"

We had a painting contest to spur people's painting interests. Entries had to be a "minimum sized unit" in what ever game system you choose. Here are pictures of the entries in no specific order.

Painting the Mountain King

I was one of the lucky ones to get a Mountain King at Lock & Load. I have found some time to start painting up the mountain king. I should really be painting my unit for the unit painting competition tomorrow, but the Mountain King sounded more fun. Whatever gets you to paint right?

Trollbloods: Project DEEP BLUE

So, after Lock and Load I decided to add a new faction to my repertoire. Trollbloods was a logical choice since I wanted something that plays to a different strategy style than my Circle and my Warmachine faction is purely Pirates. My first lock is Jarl, Devil of Thornwood. He caught my eye back when Domination came out because of how different he was to all the Circle locks. I also decided I wanted to build a ranged list with sneaky tricks so Scattergunners, being very underrepresented in the "meta" of SB Wargaming, were a must. I also loved the models for the Runeshapers, and although they are expensive, I really wanted to get them on the table.

So, onward with the pictures of the army thus far!

"Anything But...": Episode 23

SBWG puts out a short and sweet podcast with much variety. Christian delivers a great monologue on Kreugers fluff. We talk about the increase in scale of the game, and a bit about battle reports.

Sittin' by the dock of the bay...

Here's a bit belated WIP of my merc colossal base. The general plan is to get the base TOTALLY completed, including forthcoming wet effects, weathering powders, and a tiny bit of tufting/flocking, before the Galleon is released. After the Galleon is released, I'll paint it up separately, pin it into place, and then 'set' it with weathering powders and such. Ok, enough with the explain, now. Here she is so far!

Man Den Remodel

SBWG mainly play's out of Christian's garage dubbed "The Man Den". We play there often enough and enough people participate that the previous layout with only one 6x4 was not enough. Now we have 2 12x4 tables which should be enough to support our gaming needs.

"Anything But...": Episode 22

SBWG members muse while on the road to Lock and Load. Enjoy!

Siege Animantarax WIP Part I

Some pics of my very WIP Animantarax. The crew are going to be a whole separate project to them selves, but here you can see the wee beastie hisself being assembled and set for base coating.

Lock and Load: A picture is worth...

So, I have finally got around to plugging in the camera and ripping the pictures off of it. I bring you our fun filled Lock and Load weekend!

Lock & Load Interviews: Nate

Update: The Tau Resurrection Project

Alrighty.  Time for an update after a long delay.  Now that tax season and various other post-tax season things are finally out of the way, I got a chance to work on my Tau Resurrection Project (TRP).  It was also a chance to mess around with my new airbrush and here are the results so far...
