Plog: C. Hoffman & His Constructs of Order

I've had these Malifaux minis for awhile now, and while I never really got stuck in too deep into the game itself (I'm not a huge fan of the card system), these were the miniatures in the entire line that Wyrd had to offer that I thought looked cool, gribbly, and... well, STEAMPUNK! Now, with a bit of a resurgence in the interest department in our group to this game of character-driven Steampunk Victorian Horror, I thought it was high-time these minis got to see a little paint!

First up, the full crew shot:

The Long Tau Project

I'm taking stock of my Tau army. Here is what I've got so far. It's definitely not tabletop ready. A lot of it needs to be assembled/reassembled/repaired (the Mon'tau hit this cadre hard).

"Anything But...": Episode 18

Aaron provides and overview of competitive Retribution. We try to avoid theorymachine and list composition and try to focus on a more general overview. We hope to do more tactic oriented epsiodes. Enjoy!

"Anything But...": Epsiode 17

Some Menoth, then and now....

So, I sold my Menoth to Roy and he asked me to paint them up for him. It's been a LONG time since this happened and I feel really bad that I haven't painted up the army yet, so last night the guilt overwhelmed me to the point of cracking down and painting up a warcaster. Now, I sold Roy the old pewter pKreoss and he had some damage problems, so I swung by Seths' Gaming and Anime at Orccon and grabbed the variant sculpt for pKreoss.

Orccon Coverage and results!

Hello Gamers and Gamerettes, it's me again and it's time to relay coverage of Orccon 2012!

It was a long day full of gaming and general nerdisms. Board games, Hormachine, GW, Magic the Gathering, Roleplaying, hell, even LARPing. I took a number of pictures and watched the Hormachine Tournament.

Painting Tomb Kings Pt 1

So, after a few generous gifts from Mark and Christian, as well as skipping a few meals, I was able to afford a Tomb Kings army. I am still waiting on 3 Snake Surfers, which are waiting for me at Metro, our local Gaming Store. Once I sell a kidney, I will be able to afford to go get them ;)

Today I will post what I have finished so far, the Casket and Archers, and tomorrow I will post my Tomb Guard and Chariots, which I should finish tonight.

As a special treat I will also show a picture of Calaban, who I will be entering in the Orccon painting contest.

Necrons go... EPIC!

Well, for the first time in a long time I've become interested in a bog-standard GW army upon their release. Usually I'm bored to tears by the 'main stream' armies that I see see the light of day, but, try as I might, and the retconning of the fluff notwithstanding, I am strangely drawn to the new Necrons: look, feel, minis, everything!

Well, our member Rob has already started a Necron force, so in the realm of 28mm I was SOL (I really don't like playing another force that a member in the group has already, because above and beyond it all, what I crave is variety!). However, being a fan (if not the most regular player) of Epic:Armageddon, I frequent the TacCom forums to aid in development of my main army, Squats, or just to see what's up in the world of 6mm 40k.

After a few months of perusing the TacCom Necron forum, I kept noticing that there were these certain models I'd see on a regular basis: beautiful renditions of the 40k 28mm iconic minis like the Pylon, Monolith and Tomb Spiders/Canoptekh Spyders. After some... hunting... I figured out who the sculptor was, exchanged some emails, and started slowly/not-so-slowly acquiring a force of Necrons in glorious epic scale! Below are a few pics of my burgeoning force.

Dark Eldar 3: Wyches, Bases and More!

So my force has been rapidly expanding, thanks to gifts from good buddies, and here are some more sick picks!

The Beginnings of Menoth

For my Protectorate of Menoth I wanted to go for a more dark themed painting scheme. Purple robes, off white tunics, black leather and bronze metallics. It almost gives them a bit of a satanic look.

I started with the Choir as they are awesome models that get fielded in a lot of lists. This is my first fully painted model. I was pretty proud of my first attempt at some free hand. The model probably needs a bit more washing and some highlights, but overall I am happy with the paint scheme.

On the Workbench pt. II

What did I do instead of watching the *********? Why, painted Meow-Gar, of course!

Battlefleet Gothic Fleets: Craftworld Eldar

I've always love the 40k setting: the universe is just so original (yet contrived!) that it's always called to me from the shadows of my early childhood, down through the years to where I am now (all Hoarmachine and Infinity-laden). One part of that universe that I've always found so appealing is the naval aspect: both space warfare as well as aerial combat. Since SPace Fleet way back in '91, I was hooked on the idea that the 40k universe wasn't just restricted to the 28mm variety (much as the Fantasy universe wasn't, through games like Man O'War and Warmaster). Now, I've never been the BIGGEST Eldar fan, but I've always liked the looks of these guys:

They are, respectively, a Wraithship and a Shadowhunter (although there is a new Wraithship mini). I love their Craftworld aesthetic, and think they fit in just fine with those produced a decade later.

A little Epic airpower...

I love Dwarfs, and I love Epic:Armageddon, so what better way to express these loves then by playing Dwarfs in Epic?! I am a Squat holdout from a long time back, and love that over on TacCom we've been putting the new Thurgrimm's Stronghold list through it's paces in preparation for REALLY being able to field a nice, effective balanced force. Well, one of the units I've never gotten around to getting are these bad boys, Iron Eagle Gyrocopters! I'll also be working up a set of rules to use them in Aeronautica Imperialis (for the nounce, they'll just play like Vultures, and the Overlord like a Thunderhawk...).

Well, I've won an auction of the little buggers on ebay, and wanted to show off my first air wing of VTOL battlecannon goodness!

Cameronian Conversion

Alot of you in SBWargaming have seen this conversion attempt on my part to produce a Cameronian from months ago; well, with the new Cameronian out, I figure that I was tired of just staring at him less then half painted, so here's a WIP. Be gentle with the tartan, it's my first attempt at it. ;)
